Specimen data for Lazulite
Tom Mortimer Catalog No: u1210
Identification method: EDS analysis. The EDS instrument response to Mg is moderately lower than for Fe, so the real Mg content is substantially higher.
Notes: Deep blue "Lazulite" from the Palermo Mine and the Charles Davis Mine is sometimes seen for sale by mineral dealers. These specimens are invariably scorzalite, the iron rich member of the scorzalite-lazulite series. All confirmed examples of New Hampshire lazulite known by the author are green-greenish, like this example.
